Ron has been in estate agency for 20 years and loves it; “I used to be stuck behind a desk in The City as a trader, as an estate agent everyday is different and presents different challenges. Corny as it might sound I love playing a part in finding people a new home. There is nothing better than handing them the keys on the day of completion.”
He has lived locally for 17 years and speaks fondly of Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding villages a place he has called home and is very settled. Ron says with the mix of urban living in Tunbridge Wells to the relaxed countryside of Ashdown Forest and other delightful villages on the doorstep gives a perfect balance.
Good or bad he is an avid Brighton supporter and has a season ticket, an occasional golfer and a “geocasher,” Geocashing is described as the world’s largest treasure hunt!
He remembers his first day as a junior sales negotiator very clearly, not necessarily for good reasons but for reasons that members of his first branch still talk about today. He was conducting his first viewing and had successfully shown the house and was in the garden, he was talking so intently to the buyers whilst walking backwards down the garden that he failed to notice the beautiful pond until he was in it! Fully submersed and fully clothed. He arrived back to the office sodden and covered in pond weeds!
Things could only get better from then and they did. He is now a very successful and having won various awards in his time including back in 2016 shorltisted for estate agent of the Year in The Times and Sunday Times awards. Ron is thrilled to be in partnership with Mishon Welton and taking the brand into an area he knows so well.

Finding a mortgage
Buying a house is a massive investment and getting it just slightly wrong can be costly. Unless you have big savings, chances are you’re going to have to get a mortgage. It’s a loan secured against the property which means if you can’t meet the repayments the lender may repossess your home and sell it to get their money back.
The better you understand mortgages and everything to do with them, the better armed you will be to get the very best deal. With MMR in place, you’ll need to review your finances themselves before approaching possible lenders to see whether you can afford the monthly payments now and if interest rates go up, which they will…
What is MMR?
When it comes to finding a mortgage you have several options: mortgage brokers, individual banks or searching online. Again, it’s important to do your research. Searching online first, gives you a good idea of what’s available, but an independent mortgage broker can provide a more in-depth search and help you through the process. Being independent holds great value as they are not bias to any particular lenders or deals, they will give you their honest opinion and take away the stress of working your way through the mortgage market, they work for you to find you the best package to suit your requirements.
For more information on the current mortgage rules and deals, contact your local branch today to arrange an appointment.
